Construction work in Muheza DC and Korogwe TC in Tanga, Tanzania

 

The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is currently implementing its project Improving Health Care in Tanzania II (IHCP2)as part of the support of the German Development Cooperation in the health sector in Tanzania.

 

The project supports the Ministry of Health and President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government to improve neonatal care unit (NCU) and adolescent and youth friendly services (AYFS) in Tanga Region. As part of this work the project intends to award a contract for the construction of extensions to the existing health facility structures in Muheza DC and Korogwe TC.

 

The scope of the contract will include the following:

  1. Korogwe Town Hospital, AYFS: Construct an extension to the RCH building to get two rooms that will be used as the waiting room and the service provider room for AYFS.
  2. Korogwe Town Hospital, NCU: Construction of an extension alongside the whole building, attached to the existing corridor. Extension should be wider than the present ward to create space for more beds. Rooms to be constructed: Clinic, KMC, General ward 1, sluice, store; Installation of an additional toilet in the existing room currently used as store.
  3. Muheza District Hospital (Teule), AYFS: To renovate a room to be used as service provider’s room and to construct a waiting area attached to the existing building. Add a door in the corridor to separate the Anglican priest’s office from service provider’s room. Exchange the existing entrance door to connect the waiting area to the service provider’s corridor.
  4. Muheza District Hospital (Teule), NCU: Construct an extension to the postnatal ward building including a corridor to connect the new building to the clinic room by demolishing the wall and building a door. Construct a partition to create HDU. Remove the window between sluice and HDU to create an entrance to the new part of the building. The new part of the building will include general ward, KMC ward, isolation, void leading to 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets and a corridor.

 

The tender procedure from invitation to tender until signing of contract is expected to take place between 01.07.2024 and 15.08.2024. Construction work is expected to be performed and completed approximately within 6 months from signing of contract.

 

The following information and documents for eligibility assessment are required to be submitted by the interested companies to qualify for consideration in the tender procedure:

  • Official letter expressing interest.
  • Company details including full company name, full address, phone, and email.
  • Copy of Tax Identification Number (TIN) from Tanzania Revenue Authority.
  • Copy of Certificate of incorporation or registration from Business Registration and Licensing Agency(BRELA).
  • Copy of Certificate of registration Contractors Registration Board (CRB)
  • Company profile including number of employees (permanent / temporary in total) and number of professional staff qualified to perform the works, each for the last five (5) years.
  • References of works of similar nature as specified above (performed within the last five (5) years)
  • Total value of works of similar nature as specified above (for each of the last five (5) years)
  • Annual total turnover for each of the last three (3) years
