The Milele Zanzibar Foundation (MZF) is a non-profit, non-gov­ernmental organization founded in 2014 with the aim of ensuring sustainable development and improved quality of life for rural communities in Zanzibar. The organization works with government authorities and local communities to reduce the risk of poverty in rural areas and contribute to the development of the islands.

MZF envisions vibrant, resilient, and sustainable rural communities in Zanzibar and strives to accelerate progress in health, education, and livelihood opportunities through holistic and sustainable development programs.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as a Marketing Communications Manager based in Zanzibar City. The Marketing Communications Manager will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as communication management, creating press releases, developing marketing communications strategies, and overseeing project management related to communications initiatives.

Qualifications

• io⁺ of experience in strategic marketing and communications
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field
• Strong strategic communications skills
• Proven project management experience
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Knowledge of rural development and community-led initiatives
• Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in English and Swahili
