Carbon Tanzania is in the business of nature conservation. We are a business that creates value in natural resources for Tanzanians, through community-led protection and management of forests and nature. We generate value for Tanzania’s economy and its people by producing nature-based carbon credits, the sale of which enables local people to earn revenues from the protection of their landscapes. These “verified emission reductions (VERs)” allow global businesses with credible decarbonisation and nature-positive strategies to invest in a locally-led nature-based solution that delivers results for the climate, communities and biodiversity. Reaching our global climate and nature goals is impossible without protecting existing forests. Carbon Tanzania was founded by two dedicated, lifelong conservationists who have lived and worked to achieve lasting solutions to nature conservation challenges across Tanzania for the past 30 years.

The company has established itself as both a local and global leader in the voluntary carbon market, generating some of the most sought-after, high quality, nature-based carbon credits in the world. Job Overview

Carbon Tanzania is hiring a HR Business Partner. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our growing team. We are looking for an experienced professional to support our expanding business. We are looking for a talented, thought partner to lead in our People Journey. As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for partnering with our HR department to support the HR plans and initiatives in ensuring the business objectives are achieved.

Responsibilities for HR Business Partner

• Design and implement our People strategy in line with the business plans
• Design and develop the company HR policy, (in collaboration with the CEO and SMT)
• Identify and mitigate our people risks
• Work with the CEO and Heads of Departments to provide HR insights.
• Promote diversity awareness in hiring practices
• Mentor managers on employee development best practices
• Responsible for administering performance management program
• Advise leadership on hiring and terminations
• Administer payroll, employee benefits
• Provide guidance on employee behavior and conflict resolution
• Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints
• Partner with leadership to develop succession plans
• Providing assistance to the HR department in day-to-day operations
• Initiating and coordinating HR related projects
• Preparing and delivering monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Participating in annual budgeting and forecasting process
• Managing performance review processes
• Driving the growth of the HR department by developing and implementing plans and initiatives
• Providing guidance to employees on HR issues
• Assisting with the HR projects as needed

Qualifications for HR Business Partner

• HR certification, required
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
• 5+ years of HR experience
• Experience with hiring hourly employees
• Demonstrated ability with training and development programs
• Expert in developing succession plans
• Adept with performance management and investigations
• Proficiency with employee relations
• Skilled in employee benefits administration
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in human resources
• Advanced knowledge of HR processes and tools
• Experience with people management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong multitasking skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent presentation skills

Location

The role will be based at the company’s newly constructed modern office on the south western side of Arusha Municipality, northern Tanzania, where Carbon Tanzania has its Headquarters, and where its office staff are all based. Travel to other regions where Carbon Tanzania operates may be required.

Start salary 3.5 – 4.5m plus benefits
